For about a year and a half we’ve been describing ideas for the future of Grafton Lake and discussing them with Bowen Islanders. Today we’re announcing a new milestone: we’ve summed it all up in our rezoning proposal and submitted it to the Municipality.

The cover of the proposal book. We’ve put together a ‘virtuous circle’ of ideas that could make it possible to create a 200-acre nature preserve around Grafton Lake. The listening continues, as we welcome the public process that will soon begin.

We’ve done our best to make the book entertaining and informative. We will leave physical copies in a few public locations, such as cafés. But you don’t have to wait, as the whole thing can be found on our website now:
Grafton Lake Rezoning Proposal (PDF – 20MB)

The book describes why, where, what and other questions about the project.

An image of the small homes on relatively small lots we propose. We would be ever so happy for you to take a look and let us know what you think. You can talk to us through the comment form on this page, by email, through our Facebook page, on the Bowen Forum or by stopping John Reid or John Dowler on the street and giving us a peaceful piece of your mind.

We look forward to hearing from you!
